Together, the League represents 43 community foundations that collectively awarded more than $4.5 billion in philanthropic grants and $25.5 million in scholarships last fiscal year — a powerful reminder of the incredible impact local philanthropy has in strengthening communities throughout California. ![]()

BOARD MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Christa Campbell has served on the board for over 15 years, following earlier involvement as a volunteer and member of the fundraising committee. Reflecting on her tenure, she shares that her proudest moment was “the renovation of the old ‘bowling alley MORE,’ which transformed into today’s state-of-the-art facility—expanding opportunities and resources for clients, families, and staff.” Christa holds a Master’s degree in Special Education from Sacramento State and dedicated 25 years to supporting students with special needs in the Mother Lode Union School District as a teacher.![]()

Our April Client - Program Spotlight is Lorena F. and our Supported Employment Program (SEP). Lorena has been employed with Marshall Medical Center for 25 years through SEP. "Going to work makes me feel great. I love my job." Lorena's job involves organizing papers, computer skills, Zoom meeting facilitation, and answering phones. Always the professional Lorena kept her duties high level as she stated she adheres "to the highly confidential" requirements of her position. She said "I really like the people I work with. Hosted through a collaboration of local Rotary International clubs, this inspiring event brings together local high school students for a day focused on ethics, leadership, and service. Participants explored the traits of strong leaders, practiced professional etiquette, and engaged in thoughtful discussions about how to make sound decisions and lead with integrity.![]()

Make a difference in the lives of young people while also helping those who are most vulnerable in our community with Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference. You're invited to Hands4Hope's free, in-person training on Saturday, March 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in El Dorado Hills.
