Our Mission
The El Dorado Community Foundation is dedicated to strengthening our community both now and for future generations. The Foundation fulfills this mission by:
• Encouraging private giving for the good of the communities of El Dorado County.
• Building and maintaining a Community Relief Fund to respond to community need during disasters.
• Providing a flexible tax-exempt vehicle for donors with varied charitable interests and abilities to give.
• Serving as a catalyst, convener, and partner in shaping effective responses to community problems and opportunities.
Our Community
The El Dorado Community Foundation recognizes that excellence is expensive. We use that knowledge to educate nonprofits and donors alike to help raise the bar for our nonprofit community. Through effort and education, the El Dorado Community Foundation strives to support the nonprofit community in their endeavors to elevate. One of the ways we execute this is through our competitive Endow El Dorado grant cycle, providing large capacity building grants to organizations intended to support organizational growth instead of program.
The Foundation stands ready to react to community need as a partner, convener, and funder. In these efforts we don’t direct community, rather we move to support community in the direction of their choosing.
