Help remove invasive plants at the site of gold discovery in California found along the scenic South Fork of the American River. Our target plants will include rose campion, white horehound, common mullein, tree of heaven, locust saplings and immature pokeweed. Most plants will be removed by hand or using a small hand tool. Larger plants will require a shovel to easily dig them out. Ages 10 and older welcome (minors must be accompanied by an adult and bring a waiver signed by their guardian). We will meet at the museum and explore the park while working to remove target plants we encounter. We recommend volunteers bring their own lunch to enjoy in the park after our morning work.
